Churches Action for the Homeless

Description

Churches Action for the Homeless

Churches Action for the Homeless (CATH) is a local charity which supports, encourages and promotes the development and delivery of projects to relieve homelessness and poor housing, improve the conditions of life and generally aid the development of persons who are homeless in the Perth & Kinross Council area. The organisation recognises the associated problems that homelessness presents and works to alleviate those and help maintain and improve the quality of life of our beneficiaries. We help significant numbers of people each year to overcome homelessness issues through our projects which include a drop-in Day Centre, CATH House, Floating Support, Outreach Team , Literacy Project. CATH Befrienders, and our Charity Shop.

Interesting Info

The CATH shop are very much part of the local community with prize winning window displays and loyal customer base. They pride themselves on creating a friendly atmosphere where everyone is welcome to browse. Whether you are a regular to the shop or a first time customer you will receive a warm welcome and are sure to leave with a bargain. The staff and volunteers are always happy to help whether you are looking for dinner plates or a digeridoo (although we can’t guarantee the digeridoo!). They have a huge range of stock which is updated on a daily basis. The CATH Shop always offers great value as they want to be accessible no matter how deep your pockets are. As a result, the CATH shop has gone from strength to strength since it was established in 2010. Their goals have always been; •To promote the charity and draw attention to the issue of homelessness, •To raise much needed funds for the charity, and •To provide opportunities for volunteering.
